Indiana

My trip to Indiana has come and gone (sad). It was a nice break from the routine though. It was a crazy week filled with site seeing in 3 different states, earthquakes and of course new foods! I left bright and early Sunday morning- and when I say bright and early, I MEAN bright and early- my flight left at 6am! When I got to Indianapolis Ramon picked me up and dragged me to church for Sacrament Meeting so I could meet some of the people in the branch (just in case I move there)- it was alright... afterwards, one of the guys in the branch was having a social "pitch-in" (a.k.a. pot luck) at his house. It was quite the experience, let me tell ya! I think it was then that I decided that I wasn't sure I could live there. All I have to say is, if you invite people over to your house for a social gathering, expect them to be SOCIAL and don't get mad when they are!

Monday I got up bright and early and took Ramon to work (a daily ritual the whole week I was there) so I could use the jeep while he was gone- (Thanks Mony!!!) I spent my day Monday wandering around downtown Indianapolis. I wandered map-less- and still found my way! I was quite impressed. For lunch I found a little cafe in Monument Circle where I had the best prosciutto e mozzarella panino outside of Italy!

Monday night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings. TASTY! I was never a big fan of wings but damn, these were good! I love that there are like 10 different kinds of sauce that you get to choose from instead of spicy or mild!

Tuesday I did much of the same- wandered aimlessly through downtown, almost got killed.... if people think Utah drivers are bad, I think they should make a trip to Indianapolis! Seriously, those people are nuts! Anywho, Tuesday I visited the Scottish Rite Cathedral, the War Memorials, and White River State Park it was gorgeous! Wednesday I visited a few of the museums- Indiana State Museum, and I tried to go to the NCAA museum but it is closed. Wednesday night I got to try "Cincinnati Chilli"- it was definately an interesting experience. I can't say that I am much of a fan. It is an interesting of a 'chilli' that has a very strong cumin and cinnamon flavor that you put over chilli. definately an interesting mix. But hey, at least I can say I have tried it- but I don't think I will be trying it anymore.

Thursday I visited Eagle Creek Park. It was the closest thing I could find to home. There may have been no mountains or even hills but, it is a beautiful park covered by trees that surround a few lakes. I am sure it is even more amazing in the spring and the fall when there are actually leaves on the trees. I also visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway & Museum. It was pretty cool. I even got to go down to the track- not on the track but pretty close! If I were rich I could have driven a race car around the track. That would have been killer! Thursday night Ramon and I walked along the Canal. It was a beautiful night and it was fun to see some of the life in the city of Indy.

Friday I just hung out and started getting all must stuff put together. After Ramon got of work we headed to Cincinnati Ohio and Newport Kentucky. It was quite the interesting night and since it was so late when we got there, there wasn't a whole lot to see but the skylines at night were amazing. Even more proof that I love being in the city- which ever city that may be.
Saturday was spent packing and getting ready to go. I got home just after 7pm and was excited to be back home in this crazy state of Utah.

I have made a slide show of the pics I took in Indy so take a look!
